Nurturing the Human-Animal Bond
|
In May of 2010, Dr. Amy Tongue purchased Oswego Veterinary Hospital and will continue the tradition of medical excellence, extraordinary client service and a deep appreciation of the human animal bond.
Amy grew up in the San Francisco bay area and received her undergraduate degree in Animal Physiology from UC San Diego. She graduated from veterinary school at the University of California, Davis in 1998 and spent the next three years at a practice in rural Northern California working on a large variety of large and small animals.
Dr. Kathy Sandifer
Kathy grew up with dogs and horses on a citrus farm in central Florida. She earned a B.S. in biology from Davidson College in North Carolina and her veterinary medical degree from the University of Florida.
As many of you know Dr. Jason Nicholas has moved on from OVH to explore his own business and spend more time with his two adorable daughters.
We are both disappointed to see Dr. Nicholas leave and incredibly excited to welcome Dr. Pam Duggan to the OVH family!
Dr. Duggan was born and raised in Northern California and attended UC Davis both as an undergraduate and a veterinary student. She obtained her veterinary degree in 1996, and moved to the fine town of Red Bluff to practice mixed animal medicine. Here she met Dr. Tongue, where both they and their horses became good friends and riding buddies.
She emigrated to Portland in 2001, and started practicing exclusively small animal medicine. Pam is currently learning acupuncture, and excited about opening up her mind and training to something very different. She would like to take complementary medicine further as she becomes proficient, exploring Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine which includes herbal and nutritional therapy. She will enable us to offer acupuncture sometime this year.
On a personal note, she has a quarter horse named Gator who resides on Sauvie Island, 2 dogs named Sadie and Clementine, and a cat named Taz. She and her husband Dan are self-enslaved by perpetual house renovations, but also enjoy hiking, biking and canoeing.
