Surgery at Oswego Veterinary Hospital

Surgery can be a stressful experience for you and your furry family member and we will do everything we can to limit the stress on both of you. You are always welcome to call our office on the day of surgery to check on your pet or request a call or e-mail when your pet has recovered - we will even be happy to e-mail their picture as they are snuggled in a recovery blanket.

All of our surgical patients receive a physical exam prior to anesthetic induction, pre-surgical medications to eliminate any possible stress or discomfort and IV fluids during their surgical procedures.

surgery - surgeon - veterinary - dog - cat - canine - feline - lake oswego Dr. Kathy Sandifer is to the left performing abdominal surgery on one of our patients and as you can see (you may need to look close) a surgery nurse is at her side monitoring the patients every need and vital sign.

Our surgeons offer you a high degree of expertise as well as caring attitudes for both patient and family members. We use the same anesthetic gases and fluid therapy that human patients are accustomed to receiving in human hospitals. Our sophisticated surgical and monitoring equipment allow us to provide a sterile and safe environment for your pet and we have highly trained certified nurses at your pets side through the entire procedure to ensure every aspect of your pets well being and comfort.

Our pain management begins early in the patients day to assure a smooth and comfortable recovery from surgery.

We would be delighted to give you a tour of our surgery suite or any other part of our hospital because we are proud of what we do.
