Dr. Amy Tongue - Owner since 2010

Dr. Anne Lazar and the OVH Team are pleased to announce that their long time co-worker Dr. Amy Tongue has purchased Oswego Veterinary Hospital and intends to continue the tradition of medical excellence, extraordinary client service and a deep appreciation of the human animal bond.

Amy grew up in the San Francisco bay area and received her undergraduate degree in Animal Physiology from UC San Diego. She graduated from veterinary school at the University of California, Davis in 1998 and spent the next three years at a practice in rural Northern California working on a large variety of large and small animals. 

After meeting her future husband, a Lake Oswego native, and joining him in Oregon in 2002, Amy began practicing in Lake Oswego. She joined Oswego Veterinary Hospital in late 2005. She and her husband, Tom, have two boys, two dogs and a horse. Amy’s medical interests lie in surgery and general medicine, though she enjoys the diversity that veterinary medicine has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the Oregon trails on horseback, reading, and hiking.

Dr. Kathy Sandifer

Kathy grew up on a citrus farm in central Florida,where she went to a small liberal arts college and then on to the University of Florida for her Veterinary degree. 

Upon gaduation Kathy lived in Japan for 6 months before moving to Gig Harbor Washington, where she practiced on both family pets and farm livestock for over 3 years. In 1992 Kathy moved to Portland with her soon to be husband Mark and began practicing here at Oswego Veterinary Hospital.

Kathy is now working part time and keeping busy at home helping to raise her son Austin and daughter Elle. Kathy enjoys the Pacific Northwest living and can often be found hiking, cross country skiing, and white water kayaking. 

Dr. Anne Loftin-Lazar - Founder

Dr. Anne Lazar was the sole founder of OVH in 1990 and built the hospital as it stands today from a mobile veterinary practice she performed from her car. Over the years Dr. “Anne” has handed down her high standards of care and sincere appreciation for the human-animal bond to those who have worked by her side.
